How we got started
Andy McCord started in forestry at
the age of 17, when he went to
Woodsmen School in January 1969 and
graduated after three years with a
practical Woodsman Certificate,
After which he furthered his studies
to obtain a New Zealand Certificate
in Forestry Science.
Initially he spent 21 years with the
New Zealand Forestry Service until
it was sold to Cater Holt Harvey
Forest in 1990. He then spent seven
years with the new owners of the old
North Canterbury State Forest. In
May 1997 Andy left Carter Holt
Harvey Forest and decided to
establish his own business
specialising in the technical side
of forestry management.
Andy McCord has spent the last 11
years operating and managing the
company with the help of his wife
Sammi McCord. While Andy deals with
the technical side of running the
company, Sammi deals with the
financial and administrative side of
the company.
